John Junk, 69
This community was shocked early Tuesday morning when the
inhabitants learned of the sudden death of John Junk, 
aged 69, of this city. Mr. Junk had gone to the Meiselwitz 
Funeral Homee to view the body of his nephew, Hubert Mahloch, 
when he was suddenly stricken by a heart attack.
The Holy Name Society of the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic
church was reciting the rosary for Mr. Mahloch at the time. 
Mr. Junk was seated between his son-in-law and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Reichardt, when he was stricken.
The deceased, the son of John and Mary Stephany Junk, was
born in the town of Meeme December 31, 1872. He attended the
Holy Trinity parochial school at School Hill, and after 
completing his education became a carpenter.
He was employed from 1901 to 1918 by the Kiel Mfg. Company,
from 1918 to 1922 by the Lauson Mfg. Co. at New Holstein, 
and since that time by the A. A. Laun Furniture Company of 
this city, where he served as foreman of the machine 
department.
On July 11, 1905, Mr. Junk was married to Katherine Mahloch 
of this city, who survives with the daughter, Mrs. Clarence 
(Esther) Reichardt; one grandchild; his mother, Mrs. Katherine 
Junk, aged 84, of Racine, and one sister, Mrs. Robert Walshof 
Racine.
Two daughters have preceded him in death.
Mr. Junk was a member of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and
a parishoner of the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church. Funeral
services were conducted this Thursday morning at 9:30 a. m. from 
the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, with services at 10 o’clock at the 
church. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Junk, 81, of 628 Paine
St., Kiel, who died Monday at her home, will be held Thursday 
at Kiel.
A requiem Mass at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 9:30
a.m. will be preceded by brief family rites at 9 am. at the
Meiselwitz Funeral Home. The Rev. George Kiefer, pastor, will
officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Mrs. Junk, the former Katherine Mahloch, was born May 17, 1883, 
in Rockville, a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Lucas Mahloch. 
She attended district schools and was married July 11, 1905, to 
John Junk at Kiel.
The couple resided in Kiel, where Mr. Junk was a carpenter for 14 
years and later an employee of the A. A. Laun Furniture Co. He 
preceded her in death Jan. 12, 1942.
Mrs. Junk was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, 
and the Christian Mother’s Society of the church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Esther) Reichert, Kiel; 
three grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Anna 
Jacobi, Greenwood. Two daughters preceded her in death.

civil ceremony in Manitowoc County. Samuel Juno was born in New Jersey 
of John and Lynda Juno.
Caroline Gutschow was born in Germany of John and Mary Gutschow.

Samuel Juno, 79, Of Charlestown, Summoned Today
Chilton—(Special)—Samuel Juno, 79, died at his home in the 
town of Charlestown this morning at 6:15 o’clock after an 
illness of six weeks.  He was born in New Jersey on Aug. 19, 
1861, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Juno.  He married Lena 
Gutschow on April 2, 1888, in Kiel. His wife died on Nov. 7, 
1939.
Survivors are an adopted daughter, Mrs. Harold (Lena) Wendt, 
living on the homestead, and a brother, John, town of 
Greenbush, Sheboygan County.  
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock 
at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral home, the Rev. E. L. Henning of 
the Ebenezer Reformed Church officiating, with burial in 
Rockville Cemetery.

Mrs. Jouno Dies At Gravesville On Tuesday Evening
Chilton—(Special)—Mrs. Samuel Jouno, 76, passed away at her 
home in Gravesville Tuesday evening.  She had been ill for 
the past year.  Deceased was born May 9, 1863, in Germany, 
the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gutschow and 
came to America when she was 18 years old, settling with 
her parents in School Hill.  She was married April 2, 1888, 
to Samuel Jouno at Kiel.
Survivors are her husband; one adopted daughter, Mrs. 
Harold Wendt of the Town of Charlestown; four brothers, 
Frank of Colby, Charles of Milwaukee, and Henry and Fred 
of School Hill.
The body will lie in state at the Erbe-Hoffman Funeral Home 
at Chilton where friends may view it from this evening until 
the time of services which will be held Saturday at the 
funeral home.  Rev. E. L. Henning will officiate and burial 
will be made in the Rockville cemetery.
